Today, a day trip the local beach town of Oeiras, west past the Belem area of Lisbon. It's a national holiday to celebrate Corpus Christi, which is done, evidently, by jamming your car onto the highway in hopes of reaching a beach on the other side of the bridge. Luckily we go in the opposite direction, avoiding the jams, and spend the day getting to know a quieter, more residential part of the coast with our new friend Francisca. Maybe not so much to blog about though - so just pictures, then.
We arrive by local train back at Cais do Sodre train station, and add a leisurely walk back to Rossio, mixing some snacking and some shopping as we go.
A cooler night and a great walk to dinner, past the trolleys and funiculars. Dinner is with Os Bons Malandros: cubed and seared tuna with avocado and lime, two mojito spheres - gelatin balls that burst with sweet, limey-minty goodness; plus sweet potato fries and a delicious pate made from local sausages.
